About Lesley Downs

Hi, I’m Lesley Downs, welcome to my website, I’m so pleased that you have taken the time to find out a little about me and what I do.

I am a fully qualified and experienced Couples Counsellor, Separation Counsellor, Relationship Coach, Pre-Nuptial Coach, Personal Development Coach and Therapist. I use CORST (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapy) recognised Couples Counselling and Relationship Coaching techniques, combined with BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) recognised Psychotherapeutic Counselling skills, ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) Coaching models, plus I have trained with Resolution as a Family Consultant. In addition to all this I have also trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Clean Language and Systemic Modelling. I think of it as having an amazing tool bag of resources, skills and experience, that I can utilise with my clients to enable and empower them to overcome relationship and separation issues as couples, individuals and families.

I also work on a regular basis with individuals to overcome their mental and emotional barriers to success and happiness.

I am passionate about continuing to invest in my own personal and professional development to ensure that I always offer the best possible service to my clients, so you will often find me attending seminars, training courses, studying for new qualifications or with my head in a book that will update my knowledge, practice and thinking.

I am also a wife, daughter, mother and friend that understands the traumas that go on in everyday life, and how sometimes we just need an extra bit of help to get us through the difficult times so that we can find our way forward.

I have had a life time’s experience of working in both the public and private sector, in adult education, in the NHS and latterly as a business owner. Which when combined with my absolute belief in the positive impact of counselling, coaching and therapy to enable people to Become who and what they want to Become, to have the relationships they want to have and the lives they want to lead, is a pretty powerful formula for success.

Last but by no means least, I am a professional speaker, I love sharing my knowledge, beliefs and experiences with an audience. I recently had the honour of presenting my very own TEDx talk, which is now available for all to watch on the TEDx YouTube platform, I am very proud of this achievement.
